Let's Go to Camp!
What has all the colors of the rainbow and has more than 200 legs? While you are pondering that question, let me tell you about an upcoming special event, church camp.
Most of you know how involved KNUMC has been in the camping program at Wilderness over the past several years. Most of you also know that the Missouri Conference closed and sold all of our camps last year. Some of you helped raise money to purchase Wilderness. Because of these efforts we are able to once again offer a quality camping program at Wilderness Camping and Retreat Center. Hundreds have developed a close relationship with Jesus Christ through the camping programs at Wilderness, and now YOU can become part of the "Wilderness Experience."
One of the camps at Wilderness, Footsteps..., is led and staffed by members of our own congregation. Footsteps... camps are actually two camps in one. Footsteps... is for campers entering grades 5 through 7, and Footsteps, too...is for campers entering grades 8 through 11. Both camps are fun-packed with teaming opportunities, leadership development, and, of course, Christian education. This year, Footsteps... camps will be June 20 - 25. Cost for the week is $300 per camper. Not ready to let your child go alone? Choose Grand Camp for 6-8 year-olds or go as a family to Family Camp. There are also camps for other ages and special interests. Take a look at the poster on the bulletin board outside the church office for registration and fee information.
Our church will pay one-half of any fee, making camp very affordable. Scholarships are also available to those needing extra help. Registration information is posted on the bulletin board outside the church office. Additional information is available by asking Pastor Bryan, Penny in the office, or Carolyn and Jerry Akins.
As for the answer to the question above, it's Wilderness Camp on any given day.
Hope to see you at camp this year.
