John 3:1-9 Devotional "Giving Up Expectations."

In John 3, when Nicodemus is talking to Jesus, he has a hard time understanding what God's grace is really about because he is used to thinking in terms of his own expectations. Sometimes in our lives, we cannot know what is going on, or what is coming next. But we can trust that God will be with us through whatever circumstances we face and that God will work with us to make the best result out of even the most hopeless situations or places. In Genesis 12, Abraham followed God's call to leave his homeland and travel to the place God promised his descendants, even though he did not know how it would all work out. Abraham put his expectations in God's hands. So should we.
