Isaiah 42:1-9 Devotional
Epiphany reminds us that God's light is revealed not through force, but through faithfulness. In Isaiah 42, God presents a servant who brings justice gently, who does not crush the bruised or extinguish the faint flame. This servant carries God's Spirit and God's delight, offering hope to a wounded world. God's justice looks like healing, restoration, and care for the vulnerable. The servant is called to be a light to the world, opening blind eyes and freeing those bound in darkness. This light does not overpower; it restores. As we celebrate Epiphany, we are invited to watch for God's quiet work among us and to reflect that same gentle light in our lives, bearing hope, compassion, and justice wherever God sends us.
God bless.
