This week’s scripture: Matthew 18:21-35

"Grace"

In Matthew 18:21-35 Jesus gives us the parable of the unforgiving servant. When we have sinned against another, do we ask for forgiveness and repent? How about when someone sins against us. Do we hear their repentance and forgive them. That is what this is about, Forgiving others.

In our lives we have many things going on. Life is everywhere. Work, family, church, organizations we belong to. So much is going on that we can move past forgiveness and treat others harshly. What if God did the same thing. He is busy with continuing to create the universe. He is busy with all the different wars going on. What if He treated us harshly when we sin against Him?

Grace, a state of acceptance by God. Or a state of being pleasing to God. A God-given virtue or God-given help or kindness.  God is full of grace. No matter how we act toward Him, He gives us grace and accepts our repentance, if it's sincere.

This Parable is a mirror for us to look into. Do we treat each other as the master did to the servant? Or do we treat each other as the servant treated his fellow servant? If we treat each other with contempt and without grace, God has no choice but to treat us that way as well. He will treat us the way we treat others. If we are full of grace, He will be full of grace. If we
condemn, then He will condemn us as well.

Be accepting of others and full of grace. If we practice it, then it will become natural for us to treat others that way. Be graceful and merciful, as God is to you.
